Text of petition:

Pembroke Pool is under threat of closure due to huge funding gaps in providing services in Pembrokeshire. Whilst we recognise this is a Pembrokeshire County Council issue, it highlights the need for more funds to reach rural communities from the Senedd. We call on Welsh Government (WG) to provide additional funds, ring-fenced to upgrade our tired leisure services that are such an all important social hub in all our communities. Without a commitment from WG the threat of closure looms over us with every annual budget consultation.

Additional information:

Suzie Clayton - I swim several morning a week at the pool. It's had an amazing positive benefit on my physical & mental wellbeing. The convenience of being able to swim at 6am is so important to me. If the pool closed, it would be difficult to get to Tenby or Haverfordwest for 6am.
I cannot believe PCC are even considering closing it

Sue Griffiths - It seems criminal to deny children or anyone that cannot swim, the right to learn.

We live surrounded by the sea, not to mention rivers and quarries.
Then there is the matter of the sport of swimming. Where are people to go?
Please don't take this pool away from the Community.

Kelly Willis Thompson (Forever 11 charity) - after losing my nephew this would be a tragedy for hundreds of children please we need to fight to keep our pool

Dan JT - Pembroke Pool has been home to Pembroke & District Swimming Club for 50 years of teaching, coaching & uniting people. Without the Pool, the history of our club wouldn't have been possible!
