1.1     The Committee considered the Legislative Consent Memorandum on the Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill.

2.1     The Committee considered the summary of engagement findings paper.

3.1     The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Local Government and Housing Committee.

4.1     The Committee heard evidence from the Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government.

4.2     During the meeting, it was agreed that Welsh Government would write to the Committee:

•        to provide more detail on the work of the Cardiff Councils' Homelessness multidisciplinary team with regards to data sharing;

•        to advise on the Welsh Government’s next steps Welsh Government to support the front-line workforce following the report publication from the workforce task and finish group;

•        to provide details of the outcome of the Welsh Government’s discussions with UK Government for additional funding to cover the cost of the rise in National Insurance contributions;

•        with additional information on the work of the rapid rehousing task and finish group, including details of its forward work programme;

•        with information on the Welsh Government’s discussions with the DWP regarding removing financial barriers for young people in supported accommodation to find employment;

•        to provide data / statistics on the number of people currently or recently classified as homeless after release from prison.
