The Committee considered the petition again following the plenary debate on 18th September.

 

Members agreed that as the issues would be taken forward by other Senedd Committees, the petition should now be closed.

 

In doing so Members thanked the petitioner and agreed to share their latest correspondence with the Minister for Culture, Skills and Social Partnership.

The motion was agreed in accordance with Standing Order 12.36.

The Committee considered the petition and agreed to write to the Chair of the Finance Committee to ask whether the petition can be highlighted during their forthcoming budget priority debate.

 

Given the concerns regarding the impact on culture, children and young people’s opportunities and potential economic impact, Members also agreed to highlight the petition to the;

 

  • Cabinet Secretary for Education;
  • Cabinet Secretary for Culture and Social Justice; and
  • the Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Welsh Language.

 

Members also agreed to request a debate in plenary.
