Minutes:
Joel James MS had declared an interest at the start of the meeting that he was a Member of the British Association of Shooting and Conservation (BASC), and the Chair declared an interest as Chair of the Cross-Party Group on Animal Welfare. The Committee considered the petition and noted that the HSE opinion was being reviewed by the UK Government in conjunction with the Welsh and Scottish Governments. Members therefore agreed to write to the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to highlight the petition and interest in the outcome on this issue. In thanking the petitioner and closing the petition they would be informed that the Committee would be writing to DEFRA, and encouraged to follow the outcome of the review.

Minutes:
The Committee considered the petition and congratulated the petitioner on his success. The Health and Safety Executive has announced plans for a three nation ban (England, Wales and Scotland). Before closing the petition, Members agreed to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs to confirm the date a ban will come into force.

The Committee considered the petition and noted the consultation which has taken place on lead in ammunition under the UK Reach process. It agreed to await the conclusion of the further consultation on the draft socioeconomic analysis before taking any further action.

The Committee noted that the concerns raised by the petitioner are supported by the Minister and are being taken forward as part of the lead shot restriction process with the UK and Scottish Government, and agreed that it would keep a watching brief on the issue and return to the petition following the review by the UK REACH Work Programme.
