Commissioners noted progress on the digitation of audio-visual recordings of proceedings of the (then) Assembly from 1999 to 2014.  They were informed that the work would be delivered under an agreement with Bow Tie.

Commissioners discussed the implications of digital archives for Members as individual office holders, and suggested advice be sought on behalf of Members.

Commissioners received a paper updating them as to the Commission’s work on archiving the Senedd’s records.

Commissioners noted the information provided and were supportive of the approach to recognise the significance of archiving, and work with the National Library of Wales to sustain the archive for future generations.

Chris Warner introduced a proposal to develop an archiving strategy, working closely with the National Library of Wales, to create a coherent and accessible archive for the long-term preservation of all the Assembly’s records that would complement the broader policies for information management and data protection and join up with the objectives of the MySenedd programme.

Management Board acknowledged the strategic importance of developing an Assembly archive strategy and agreed the proposed actions to deliver the project.

The Board agreed to dedicate the meeting to the discussion of absence management, so the other items were postponed until the July meeting agenda.
